A 50-year-old driver was held after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash on DN1 E60 outside Florești, injuring a pedestrian. Police say the incident happened on 22 October at around 05:30. The man, at the wheel of a car, allegedly struck a 52-year-old woman who was crossing the road at an unmarked, un-signposted location. After the collision, the driver allegedly left without notifying or obtaining approval from the police. Officers later identified him and located him during the same day. The driver was tested with an breathalyzer, which returned a negative result. Based on the evidence collected, road police from Cluj ordered his 24-hour detention on 23 October. He is being investigated for leaving the scene of an accident. Investigations continue under the supervision of the case prosecutor to establish all circumstances of the crash.
