Carabinieri arrest man in Fontaneto d'Agogna for hashish sale to minors
47-year-old was arrested while on house arrest, and later sent to jail.
Carabinieri arrested a 47-year-old man in Fontaneto d'Agogna for suspected hashish dealing involving two minors.
Officers from the Tenenza of Borgomanero stopped the man in the courtyard of his condominium while he allegedly handed over doses to two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, on 21 October.
The teenagers were immediately stopped after the exchange and found to have about 2 grams of hashish.
A subsequent home search carried out while he was already under house arrest led to the seizure of another 72 grams of hashish, in part already divided into sale-ready doses. Officers also recovered a precision scale, a knife used for cutting the drug, packaging materials, and cash believed to be proceeds of the alleged activity.
The man was first returned to house arrest. After the arrest was validated by the judicial authority, he was transferred to prison.
The case forms part of ongoing territory control operations by Carabinieri in the Novara province focused on stopping drug dealing aimed at younger people.
