Police in Forlì arrested a man accused of stalking his ex girlfriend and assaulting her in the street. The case involves an incident on 30 October 2026, when officers were called after the woman’s screams drew attention from a local shopkeeper. Investigators said the accused man allegedly followed the woman and pounced as she left home with two acquaintances. He is accused of grabbing and tearing her phone from her hands before fleeing. A shopkeeper intervened, chasing and holding the alleged attacker until police arrived. Two friends of the woman then joined the pursuit. Police say the October episode was not isolated. The victim had already reported the man for stalking on 9 September 2026. In the days leading up to the latest incident, he allegedly carried out checks near her workplace and subjected her to insults and abuse. After the arrest in flagrante, the case was presented to the judicial authority. The judge validated the arrest and, considering the seriousness of the facts and the man’s previous record, ordered a precautionary measure: a ban on approaching places habitually frequented by the victim. The measure also includes an electronic monitoring bracelet to help ensure he complies with the court’s conditions. The investigation remains focused on reconstructing the full pattern of alleged conduct and the related prior incidents reported by the victim.
