Police arrested a suspected thief after he allegedly broke into four bakeries in the Toulouse area, targeting cash machines in the early hours of Sunday into Monday. Investigators said the attacks struck La Mie de pain shops between 2 and 6 a.m. in Toulouse and Colomiers. The suspect allegedly destroyed three automatic cash registers to get money, taking only a small amount. A young adult was arrested by specialized investigators on Wednesday. He allegedly carried out a series of break-ins, moving from the north of Toulouse to Les Izards and then to Colomiers, where at least one attempt was stopped by a security guard. Police said surveillance cameras filmed the suspect. During police custody in the Toulouse area, he reportedly admitted involvement in three cash machine break-ins and one attempted theft. He was brought before the prosecutor after custody and is expected to be tried quickly before the correctional court as part of immediate appearances.
