Four minors were detained in Palma over alleged links to the 'Blocus' network, suspected of promoting and coordinating disturbances and looting. National Police said the investigation led to 18 arrests across seven cities during the past week, including 13 minors. Police said the four Palma arrests brought the total across Spain to four in Malaga, three in Valencia, three in Barcelona, two in Lleida, one in Bilbao and one in Sevilla. Authorities said the suspects were presumed to have taken part in conspiracy for public disorder, conspiracy to commit crimes against property, and membership of an organised group. Police described different roles within the group, including planning, coordination, direction and dissemination of calls for disturbances. Investigators said the alleged network used social media and digital communication channels to set targets, point to locations for action, and encourage the use of weapons. Police added that instructions were shared on making homemade incendiary devices, including Molotov cocktails. Police said the operation was triggered by the disturbances recorded in Barcelona on 24 October. From there, investigators identified a rapid spread of the threat to other cities including Madrid, Malaga, Valencia, Bilbao and Mallorca. The police operation in Palma and elsewhere is part of an ongoing probe. Officers said the investigation remains open and that digital tracing is continuing, with no new arrests ruled out.
