21enne in fuga a Gallarate sperona i carabinieri e cerca di investirli
Bloccato dopo colluttazione, aveva auto rubata, nessuna patente e una pistola a salve con 47 cartucce
In the early hours of Sunday, 18 October, Carabinieri in Gallarate arrested a 21-year-old after a high-speed chase that ended with him allegedly trying to hit the officers in reverse.
The incident began around 3.30am when a patrol saw a Volkswagen Golf going the wrong way and at speed along via Milano, making dangerous overtaking. When the driver ignored the stop order and pressed the accelerator, a pursuit followed through city streets.
The chase came to an end in via Sardegna, where the vehicle got stuck inside a dead-end. Cornered, the 21-year-old allegedly put the car in reverse, attempting to run over the Carabinieri. He then allegedly rammed the Carabinieri patrol vehicle, the “Gazzella,” on the front.
During the confrontation, the Carabinieri reported minor injuries. The detained man also faces accusations including resisting a public official, damaging property, and carrying an unauthorized weapon or object for offensive use.
After the arrest, officers found a replica pistol, a pistola a salve without the red cap, tucked in the belt behind his back. It was reportedly loaded and ready to use, along with 47 rounds of the same caliber.
Investigations by the Polizia Stradale in Busto Arsizio-Olgiate Olona also established that he was driving without ever obtaining a driving licence. The car was reportedly stolen in Samarate the previous evening, a theft for which a report was filed, while further checks were still under way to confirm its proven origin.
At a fast-track hearing at the Tribunal of Busto Arsizio, the judge validated the arrest and imposed house-obligation in Samarate. The case was adjourned to 16 November 2026.
