Gdańsk police arrest 3 over theft of natural hair worth over a million zł
A court ordered temporary detention as investigators recovered part of the stolen bundles.
Gdańsk police have detained three people suspected of breaking into wholesale firms and stealing natural hair used for extensions, with losses assessed at more than one million zł.
Investigators arrested two women, aged 32 and 38, and a 46-year-old man. The break-ins targeted wholesale locations in Kowale, Poznań, and Gdańsk.
Police said the group allegedly broke into the firms and took natural hair intended for hair extensions. Victims estimated the damage at more than one million zł, and some of the stolen hair was recovered during the investigation.
The case was driven by months of operational work by detectives from the Gdańsk Municipal Police Department. Prosecutors from the Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz District Prosecutor’s Office applied to the court for a detention measure.
On that request, the court ordered temporary arrest for the three suspects.
