Germany arrests 2 suspects over Starlink antenna arson near Sofia
Two 19-year-olds were detained in Duisburg and face extradition to Bulgaria.
German police have detained two 19-year-old suspects wanted by Bulgaria over the October 9 arson of Starlink antennas near Sofia.
The men were arrested in Duisburg and are expected to be extradited to Bulgaria after Bulgarian authorities submitted European Arrest Warrants to German counterparts. A court approved the warrants, placing the pair on a wanted list.
Investigators say the suspects entered Bulgaria on the morning of October 9 and left the country that evening, crossing into Serbia at Kalotina minutes before midnight.
The men are accused of setting fire to eight antennas. Three were completely destroyed, three were scorched, and two suffered partial fire damage.
The case is being driven by the international arrest warrant process as the suspects remain in German police custody pending extradition.
