Police from Portugal’s GNR arrested a man and a woman in Odemira after finding 235 doses of cannabis during a search linked to suspected drug trafficking. The operation took place in Pereiras-Gare, on the outskirts of Odemira, with officers acting on targeted policing aimed at detecting cannabis plantations in the county’s mountainous areas. On Wednesday, October 14, the Núcleo de Investigação Criminal de Odemira identified three cannabis plants near the suspects’ home. That discovery led to a home search, where the GNR seized 235 cannabis doses. The two suspects, aged 39 and 36, were then detained and later formally made arguido. The facts were reported to the Tribunal Judicial de Odemira for the next legal steps.
