Police seize Rolexes, cash and guns after arrest of Richard Heart in Istanbul
The HEX founder is reportedly detained following an early-morning Istanbul raid.
HEX founder Richard Heart, also known as Richard James Schueler, was reportedly detained in an early-morning raid in Istanbul on Wednesday, as Turkish authorities seized luxury watches, firearms and cash.
Istanbul prosecutors coordinated the operation, with support from Istanbul police, financial-crimes investigators, Interpol personnel and special operations officers, Turkish media reported. Schueler, 47, was taken into custody along with a woman identified only as A.K, described as his wife.
Authorities seized dozens of items, including 64 luxury watches, 53 Rolexes and 11 Patek Philippe pieces, along with jewelry, firearms and electronics. The haul also included about $4 million in cash, with some outlets reporting different figures, including $600,000 and 2,600 euros, plus 50,000 Turkish lira.
Turkish prosecutors allege Schueler built an Istanbul-based fraud network that operated through shell companies in the United States, Finland and Spain. Finnish requests for Interpol action began in December 2024, when an Interpol Red Notice was issued for Schueler over serious tax-evasion allegations and an assault allegation linked to 2021, involving a 16-year-old.
The latest status in the source says Schueler was detained in Istanbul following the raid. He remains wanted under the Interpol Red Notice, and the story continues to describe the allegations and seized assets, including unlicensed firearms and ammunition, along with cold wallets and other computing equipment used to store crypto offline.
