Indonesia deported a Chinese national wanted on an Interpol Red Notice, handing him to Chinese police after arrest and processing in Jakarta. Immigration officials detained SS in Bali during an operation that began on Sunday, October 25. He was transferred to Jakarta after being arrested with police support, then held at the Directorate General of Immigration detention facility while deportation documents were prepared. Interpol Red Notice details linked SS to alleged money laundering in China, where he was also listed among Chinese most wanted fugitives. Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration said the deportation followed a formal request from the Indonesian National Police, Polri, through its international relations division, to assist ongoing legal proceedings in China. After the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta issued emergency travel documents, SS was deported on Monday, October 26. He was handed over directly to Chinese police escorts for repatriation to Beijing. The latest status is that SS has been removed from Indonesian custody and repatriated, with the case remaining tied to legal proceedings in China.
