İzmir police detained a suspect over an online “weapons on display” post using police emblem and badge images. The man allegedly shared the material under page names such as “polis haber” and “basın polis” on social media platforms. İzmir Provincial Police teams began an investigation after identifying the posts that used Emniyet Teşkilatı symbols. Officers carried out an operation at the suspect’s home and workplace. During searches, police seized 1 handgun, 1 empty magazine, 58 rounds of ammunition, and 4 rounds with iron pellets on the tips. Officers also found an FM hand radio and 8 “kokart” badges with the word “Polis” on them, along with an identity document. Police arrested A.U.Ş. during the operation, according to İzmir İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü and the siber suçlar team involved in the probe.
