Police in Kifisia, northern Athens, arrested five people over alleged illegal parking services at nightclubs, authorities said. The operation by the Traffic Accident Prevention and Control teams, together with Attica Traffic Directorate and GADA, took place on Friday night in the Kifisia area. Police said three suspects, aged 36, 24 and 23, took charge of customers’ vehicles as they arrived at the venue. They handed drivers numbered slips, then placed an additional slip on the cars and parked them in public areas such as streets and sidewalks. When drivers left, the five suspects allegedly demanded payment and took back the keys without issuing any tax receipt. The case was handled by the First Section of Traffic in North-East Attica, and the case file was submitted to the competent prosecutor. Police said similar operations will continue. The suspects were arrested, and the investigation is ongoing with the file now before the prosecutor.
