Gardai in Kilkenny seized a vehicle for the second time in four months after recognising it from a previous stop. The driver was pulled over on the Dublin Road in Kilkenny, and a garda identified the vehicle from an earlier incident. A Facebook post by gardai said the vehicle was seized again after the driver was identified by the officer who recognised it. Gardai also said the driver had insured the vehicle under another person's name, so it did not trigger Automatic Number Plate Recognition, or ANPR. Instead, the garda on duty recognised the vehicle and the seizure followed. “The driver can attempt to explain why he believes that a Driving Licence and Insurance are optional,” the garda post said.
