Kotor police have arrested D.M. (37) on suspicion of setting a neighbor's car on fire in the Zlatne njive area of Kotor. Police allege that on 12 October, around 00.25, the suspect poured flammable liquid over his “Mercedes” vehicle in front of a family home owned by F.M. from Kotor, then used a suitable means to ignite it, causing material damage to the car. Kotor police said they carried out multiple operational and investigative steps with the Office of the State Prosecutor (ODT) Kotor to clarify the incident, identify the suspect and determine his movements after the alleged crime. Investigators carried out searches at several locations and collected statements from multiple people. The actions led to the identification of D.M. and his criminal processing. The police said they cleared up almost all reported fire-setting cases and other attacks on citizens' property within a short time. The suspect has been arrested following an order by the competent state prosecutor, and the case remains in the investigative and prosecution process.
