A 30-year-old has been arrested in Limassol in connection with the suspected kidnapping and stabbing of a 24-year-old Turkish Cypriot. Police arrested the man on the basis of a judicial warrant as part of investigations into an incident that allegedly happened on 16 October 2026. The case began after the 24-year-old reported that three men abducted him from a park in the Saint Antonios area of Limassol. He alleged that the men forced him into a vehicle and drove him to a remote rural location, where he was reportedly beaten and stabbed. The Limassol TAE is investigating kidnapping and causing grievous bodily harm. Investigators took statements and evaluated evidence with the aim of securing testimony that would justify judicial warrants. As police said, the 24-year-old had initially told a different account when he went to hospital, and the circumstances around his first report are under investigation. Police also said the suspect may have been targeted as someone thought responsible for recent thefts of hunting dogs. The 30-year-old is currently arrested as investigations continue.
