Police in Livorno arrested a suspect for evading house arrest after a night-time stop tied to a stolen motorbike. The Polizia di Stato in the city said that around 03.20 on 29 September 2026, officers from the General Prevention and Public Rescue unit spotted a motorcycle with two people on board and noticed suspicious driving. When police tried to stop the vehicle, the riders launched a chaotic escape that ended shortly afterwards. Officers then detained both occupants: a 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman. Checks carried out at the Questura showed the pair were travelling on a stolen motorcycle, and the man was under a precautionary measure of house arrest. He was therefore arrested and reported to the judicial authority for ricettazione, receiving stolen goods, and resistance to a public official. The case is now in the hands of the judge. During the preliminary investigations, the suspect is presumed innocent in accordance with the current stage of proceedings.
