Police in Lviv detained local figure Ostap Stakhiv and took him to a district territorial recruitment and social support center, known as a TCC. The arrest happened on October 31 on Luhanska Street near Stryiska Street. Footage shared online shows Stakhiv saying, “I am not wanted” before he is taken away by people in olive uniforms and officers arriving in two minibuses. Officials at the Lviv regional TCC and SP confirmed that Stakhiv was delivered to one of the district centers to undergo a military medical commission, or VLK. The center said he had been on the wanted list since March 6, 2026, for violating rules of military registration. The article also describes Stakhiv’s earlier criminal matters. In autumn 2024, he was informed of suspected fraud and suspected interference with the work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He later left custody in December 2024 after paying a bail amount of 908,000 hryvnias. The authorities also cited that, after the start of the full-scale war, Stakhiv allegedly spread claims that Russia was supposedly provoked into invading by other countries. He was also accused of revealing the exact location of a Ukrainian unit and personnel of a TCC department in Rivne Oblast during a live broadcast, and of organizing online courses under the guise of journalism training. The courses allegedly promised journalist credentials for 7,000 hryvnias per participant, including international-model documents, and included training on how to avoid mobilization. Stakhiv’s latest status is that he has been taken into custody at the district TCC area and is currently undergoing the VLK procedure to determine his fitness for military service.
