Police in Madrid have detained a teacher accused of abusing a ten minors, including cases linked to a school in the city center. The allegations cover attacks between 2024 and 2026. Prosecutors also accuse the man, known to neighbors in the El Cañaveral area, of grooming minors and producing child pornography. Neighbors described him as active in the community and said he offered to give tutoring classes to the children of nearby residents. Some of them helped put up posters advertising the private lessons, and they later witnessed a court-ordered search at his home. During the raid, investigators from the UFAM unit, Unidad de Atención a la Familia y la Mujer, seized extensive electronic material, including mobile phones, computers and hard drives. Investigators believe he recorded the alleged sexual assaults. The man had been dismissed from the Mercedarias of Don Juan de Alarcón school two years ago after an earlier arrest over a suspected sexual assault involving a minor. After that, he worked in the Humanitas school in his local neighborhood. Police say the investigation also points to the accused using online gaming platforms to contact minors, pressuring them into sending sexual images. Officers have already taken statements from nine victims, and say more cases are under investigation. The investigation is continuing, with the police focusing on whether additional cases are linked to the teacher among both the neighborhood and students at the schools involved.
