Police in Malatya seized 7 unlicensed pistols hidden inside a vehicle during an arms-trafficking operation. Officers stopped and searched the car and found the guns stashed in multiple compartments, including the dashboard area, under the hood, and the side of the driver’s section. Two people were taken into custody during the operation. Malatya Provincial Police said the search was carried out by teams from the Directorate’s Counter-Smuggling and Organised Crime branch and the Intelligence branch. The investigation focused on stopping illegal weapons trading in the city. During the raid, officers discovered the pistols concealed in different locations within the car. Police detained two suspects linked to the vehicle. The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to prevent illegal arms trade, with the investigation continuing after the arrests.
