Police arrested a 33-year-old man after three Jewish women, including one pushing a baby in a pram, reported being assaulted in Stamford Hill, north east London. The victims suffered minor injuries. Members of Shomrim detained the suspect until police arrived in Upper Clapton Road on Monday afternoon. Metropolitan Police arrested the man on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault. The force said it is treating the incident as a suspected antisemitic hate crime and has increased patrols in the area. The Met also said the man has since been further arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with a separate incident in Islington on Friday. He remains in custody. Detective Chief Inspector Erica Crawshaw called it an alarming and distressing incident and thanked Shomrim volunteers for detaining a suspect. The Met appealed for anyone with information, or anyone else who believes they may have been assaulted, to come forward.
