Police in Forres seized drugs worth an estimated £400,000 from a property, after officers stopped a man earlier in the day. Officers found a quantity of cocaine during a stop and search on Leys Road in Forres on Wednesday, October 14, involving a 54-year-old man. Later, police recovered cannabis and cash during a search of a property in the town. The man was arrested and charged in connection with the seizures and is expected to face proceedings at Elgin Sheriff Court on Thursday. Detective Sergeant Jamie Stewart said the recovery shows police will not tolerate illegal drugs in communities, and that officers are determined to protect the public by disrupting the cultivation and sale of illegal substances. He added that information from the public is crucial, and urged people with knowledge of drugs activity to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. The case remains before the courts following the charge.
