A man has been charged with murder after being extradited from Poland to Sydney, following the discovery of a body hidden inside a cabinet on the NSW Mid-North Coast. The 26-year-old arrived at Sydney International Airport on Friday with homicide squad detectives, before being taken directly to Mascot Police Station. He was refused bail and charged with murder. The case traces back to the disappearance of a 22-year-old man from Peakhurst in early 2023. Investigators began with a drug supply investigation in Caringbah, which uncovered links to the missing person case and led to the establishment of Strike Force Etruscan by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad. In May 2023, detectives searching Warrell Creek at Macksville found the 22-year-old’s body concealed inside a large metal cabinet. Two other men, aged 22 and 33, were previously arrested and charged over their involvement in the murder, and their matters have since been finalised in court. Detectives later identified the 26-year-old suspect after he travelled to Poland. Australian officers went to Poland in September to help secure his arrest and coordinate the extradition process with local police. He is scheduled to appear before court on Saturday, charged with murder.
