A man has been detained in Toro, Zamora province, after allegedly ramming a Guardia Civil vehicle during an attempt to identify him. Citizens had reported two suspicious cars on roads in the municipal area of Toro, saying they may have been connected to furtive activities and the theft of galgos. Officers from several patrols were sent out on Wednesday morning to locate and identify the occupants. A patrol from the Toro post found the two vehicles travelling on roads in the Pozoantiguo area. When officers tried to identify the drivers, one car rammed the police vehicle, leaving it damaged, before driving off toward Valladolid. A search and location operation was launched. The vehicle that carried out the ramming was later found and identified in the Mota de Marqués area of Valladolid by members of the USECIC unit. The identified car had four men inside, including two minors. All of them are residents of Toledo. The suspects were taken to the Guardia Civil command in Zamora, where the detained man was put at the disposal of the courts. The Guardia Civil said the case falls under an operational order focused on eradicating illegal hunting and the robbery or theft of galgos in its area of responsibility, including preventive and reactive services.
