A 50-year-old man from Berghin was detained for 24 hours after allegedly breaking a protection order issued against him, authorities said. The incident took place on 17 October 2026, when he allegedly came within 100 metres of his former partner, who is 45 years old. The protection order had been issued on 22 September 2026 by the Alba Iulia Court. Police from Secția 2 de Poliție Rurală Vințu de Jos carried out the detention, and the case is being investigated under the coordination of the public prosecutor handling the matter. The man is currently detained as the investigation continues.
