A man suspected of posing as an employee of Kosovo’s intelligence agency and demanding money for job placements has been arrested in Priština, Kosovo Police said. Police accuse D. N. of falsely representing himself as a worker for KIA or AKI for more than a year and a half, starting from the beginning of 2025 until October this year. He allegedly asked victims for different sums in exchange for promised mediation in getting employment in the institution. The case was reported to police in October, prompting an investigation by the General Investigations Unit in Priština, in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency and the Basic Prosecution in Priština. D. N. was arrested on 21 October. The prosecutor ordered that he be held for 48 hours due to suspicion of fraud. Kosovo Police said they have not specified how much money he allegedly demanded, how many people were affected, or whether any payments were actually handed over. Police urged citizens to be careful when anyone offers jobs in public institutions for money, and to report such cases to the police.
