National Member for Lithuania Margarita Šniutytė-Daugėlienė has been re-elected as Vice-President of Eurojust, the EU’s judicial cooperation unit, on 26 May. According to the Eurojust announcement, she will take up the new four-year mandate on 28 June. In the role, Šniutytė-Daugėlienė is set to continue working closely with Eurojust President Michael Schmid and Vice-President José de la Mata. Šniutytė-Daugėlienė has served as National Member for Lithuania since 2019. The re-election means she will remain in a leadership position within Eurojust while continuing that national role. Eurojust is responsible for supporting and strengthening cooperation between European prosecutors and courts. The Vice-President position is part of the organisation’s senior management team, alongside the President and the other Vice-President. The announcement provides the appointment date and the start of the four-year term, but does not include details about any ongoing cases or operational actions.
