Police seize over 250g of hashish and marijuana in Militello
A 36-year-old was arrested after police found precision scales and cash in his home.
Police in Militello, Val di Catania, arrested a 36-year-old on domestic arrest orders after a raid turned up more than 250 grams of hashish and marijuana hidden in his home.
Carabinieri carried out the operation in the early morning, with support from the Cacciatori “Sicilia” airborne unit and the Carabinieri dog unit. Investigators said earlier checks had raised suspicions about the man’s alleged involvement in drug dealing, despite him being under house arrest.
During the search, the antidroga dog Hams alerted officers to drugs in multiple spots inside the house. Officers found over 250 grams in total in a vase on the terrace and in a desk.
The seizure also included two precision scales, along with a cutter and a small cleaver, described as tools potentially usable to weigh and split the drugs. In the bedroom, police recovered another precision scale, a pack of marijuana seeds, and 360 euros in cash in mixed denominations.
At the end of the raid, the 36-year-old was arrested and taken to the Casa Circondariale in Caltagirone, available to the judicial authority. The seized substances will be analysed at the Carabinieri provincial laboratory in Catania.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the man is held in custody following the arrest.
