Police in Nikšić arrested M.Đ. (65) after he allegedly obstructed officials and endangered the security of a police escort for the director of the Police Administration of Montenegro. The incident happened on 15 October on the main road Nikšić Podgorica. The driver of a Volkswagen allegedly illegally overtook the escort and then intentionally made contact with one of the vehicles, causing minor material damage. Police said the driver did not stop when officers signaled him and continued driving. An officer stopped the car shortly after and identified M.Đ. as the driver. He allegedly refused to take an alcohol test, so the vehicle was temporarily seized for further checks. During the investigation, with a search warrant from the Basic Court in Nikšić, police searched properties in Nikšić, Danilovgrad, and Podgorica, as well as the vehicle. Officers found a Magnum pistol with 14 bullets and 117 rounds of ammunition of various calibres. The man allegedly had no appropriate documentation for the weapon and ammunition. After an initial review of the case files, the prosecutor ordered that M.Đ. be arrested and filed a criminal report for preventing an official person from carrying out official duties. The prosecutor will decide on further steps regarding the seized weapon and ammunition after additional checks. M.Đ. is currently in custody following the prosecutor’s order, while the investigation continues for the weapon and ammunition.
