Police in Munich have arrested a woman after a 13-year-old boy was found dead in a hotel room. Officers were called to a hotel at around 9:40 on 4 November, after staff reported an incident. In the room, police discovered the child’s body and a woman who is a relative of the boy. She was taken to hospital because of her condition. Earlier, police said the boy was 12 years old, then later updated the information to 13. Investigators did not release details about how the death may have occurred. A police spokesperson declined to comment on a claim reported by Bild about the woman being the boy’s mother and being suspected of killing the child before attempting suicide. To establish the exact cause of death, authorities ordered a forensic medical examination. Criminal investigators also worked at the hotel. The investigation is continuing while police assess the findings and follow up on the circumstances of the death.
