Police in Novi Beograd arrested a 36-year-old man suspected of robbery and 12 counts of aggravated theft, with total alleged gains exceeding 1.2 million dinars. Investigators say the suspect, between June and October 2026, approached victims from behind, grabbed their necklaces and tore off the chains before selling them. Police said they found and seized items believed to have been taken in these crimes. The suspect was ordered held for up to 48 hours by a public prosecutor from the Third Basic Public Prosecution in Belgrade, and will be brought before that prosecution with a criminal report.
