Northampton cocaine smugglers jailed after £80m shipment seized
Craig-Le-Mare was arrested at Gatwick in January 2025 over packages found near Northampton.
Three alleged cocaine smugglers linked to a planned operation have been jailed after police seized packages worth more than £80m.
Police found cocaine in the back of a lorry parked in a lay-by near Northampton in November 2021. The lorry had been sealed before leaving Mexico and was followed by three people from the Port of Felixstowe in Suffolk.
Craig-Le-Mare fled the country but was arrested at Gatwick Airport in January 2025. The 36-year-old, of no fixed address, was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
Police body-camera footage shows the arrest of one of the other suspects, 46-year-old Kelly Robertson from Watford, in December 2023.
The latest status is that Craig-Le-Mare has been sentenced, while the third person involved has already been jailed over the same operation.
