Police in Nuremberg arrested several people after violent clashes during Gen-Z protests in the city. Officers reported attacks from inside the crowd, including bottles, some described as glass, plastic bottles, stones and fireworks. They said thankfully no officers were injured. During the evening, police detained a split group of about 200 demonstrators at different locations across Nuremberg. Officers checked individuals, found protective equipment during searches, and secured it. Several people were taken into police custody to prevent further disruptions. Two individuals climbed onto a building facade during the operation, and police said they were left up there initially while officers monitored the situation. Because of the throwing of fireworks, police also controlled both larger and smaller groups. In those cases, police initiated investigative proceedings. Elsewhere in the city, there were also incidents of property damage. Police said a shop window in Landgrabenstraße was allegedly damaged by a bottle throw, and unknown people smeared graffiti on several tram stops. Police said the protests had around 1,200 participants, while organizers put the number at 6,000. A reporter estimated about 4,000 to 5,000 people were there. The arrests and investigations are ongoing, with multiple people held in police custody and procedures launched over the reported attacks and vandalism.
