Police arrest 2 at Erfurt main station over threat and insult orders
The 38-year-old man and 41-year-old woman must serve 50 and 30 days in custody.
Police arrested a pair at Erfurt main station after finding enforcement orders from the Thuringian justice system against both suspects.
On Thursday afternoon, Bundespolice stopped the couple at the station. A 38-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman had arrest warrants for separate cases involving threat and insult. Neither could pay the associated fines in the three-digit amount.
The money shortfall meant the pair was taken into custody. Police brought both into justice detention facilities to serve prison terms, the man for 50 days and the woman for 30 days.
A child travelling with the couple was handed over into the care of the youth welfare office in close coordination.
Latest status: the two suspects are in custody and currently serving their sentence terms.
