A 26-year-old man has been extradited from Poland to face a murder charge in Sydney, Australian homicide detectives said. The man arrived in Sydney on Friday and appeared in court on Saturday after being refused bail. He is accused of being involved in the murder of a 22-year-old man whose body was found in 2023 in a large metal cabinet in a creek at Macksville on the NSW Mid-North Coast. Police allege the 22-year-old had been linked to the alleged supply of drugs in the Caringbah area, which was investigated by Strike Force Almug. Investigators say the 26-year-old, who had been living in Poland, was involved in the alleged murder along with two other men. Two other men were previously convicted over the incident. One pleaded guilty to manslaughter, and the other was convicted of being an accessory after the fact to manslaughter. With help from Polish authorities and national law enforcement partners, detectives secured the man’s arrest in Poland before travelling overseas to facilitate his extradition to Australia. On Sunday, September 18, homicide squad detectives travelled to Poland to arrest him. He has been charged with murder and is set to appear in court following his arrival in Sydney.
