Police in Alba Iulia applied 19 contraventional fines totaling 6,487 lei after checking more than 60 people and 45 vehicles during a night-time enforcement action. The operation took place on 16 October 2026, between 21:00 and 00:00, when officers used the eDAC application to carry out the checks. Police also carried out 18 alcohol or other substance tests. A driving licence was retained during the action. Officers included gendarmes from the Alba County Gendarmerie Inspectorate “Avram Iancu”. Police said the action aims to prevent antisocial acts and maintain public order, and that officers will continue operations to protect citizens and keep public calm.
