Police arrest 7 in Poznan over illegal e-cigarette trade
More than 38,000 vaping products seized, with alleged cash flows topping 27 million zł.
Poznan police detained seven people in an operation targeting an organised group involved in illegal e-cigarette trade, including electronic cigarettes and liquids, authorities said.
Officers from the Economic Crime Fighting Department of the Greater Poland Voivodeship Police carried out the actions and seized more than 38,000 vaping products worth nearly 3 million zł. Police also established that financial flows linked to the alleged scheme exceeded 27 million zł.
The group is suspected of trading illegally in e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquids through criminal channels, with money moving in amounts far larger than the value of the confiscated goods. Investigators followed the money trail as part of the probe.
Police have not provided details on charges or trial dates in the available information. The operation was conducted by Poznan’s Economic Crime Fighting Department, and the arrests followed the coordinated actions against the suspects.
The case is at the investigation stage following the arrests, with police continuing to work on the established financial flows and the broader scope of the alleged illegal trade.
