Shortly before midnight, Zurich cantonal police received a report of a break-in at a car garage in Volketswil. Police found that a car had been stolen. During the search, Aargau cantonal police reported that officers from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security and the Basel-Landschaft police spotted the missing vehicle. The driver tried to evade the police in a high-speed escape. The chase ended when the driver crashed while fleeing on the A3 near Rheinfelden. One passenger was injured and taken to hospital. A second suspect tried to run away on foot. In the early hours, customs officers arrested him at Rheinfelden railway station. Both detainees were taken into custody and must now answer to the public prosecutor in Zurich.
