Police arrest two men in Puertollano for burglary with force
The homeowner spotted the suspects again and helped officers detain them in flagrante.
Spanish National Police arrested two men in Puertollano, Ciudad Real, accused of a burglary with force in a home.
Officers detained one suspect in flagrante after the homeowner called 091 immediately when he saw the men had returned to the property, the day after he had reported a previous break-in.
The victim had already filed a complaint the previous day, saying tools and personal items were stolen. When he noticed the suspects inside again, he rang emergency services and provided real-time information to the agent handling the call, including where one of the assailants was located.
Thanks to the alert, several police patrols arrived quickly and located the suspect at the scene. Investigators then identified and arrested the second man.
Police also seized the vehicle they said was used to help scale the wall. Inside, officers found part of the material stolen from the home, which the owner recognized without hesitation.
The investigation also showed that a significant portion of the stolen goods was sold at a scrapyard in Miguelturra, also in Ciudad Real, for more than 600 euros. Officers said the sale was carried out with the help of a minor, the partner of one of the accused.
Both men were charged with a continued offence of burglary with force in a home. One of the suspects is also accused of an offence against road safety because he was driving the vehicle without a licence. The detainees were taken before a judge, and the inquiry continued to identify, locate and arrest the second participant.
