Police stopped eight suspected illegal immigrants in Mustamäe on Friday afternoon. Officers were called after a car left the area on J. Sütiste tänav, where eight dark-skinned men had drawn attention. After the vehicle drove off, the men moved around the area. A vigilant citizen informed police at about 15:30. North Prefecture operations manager Silver Hanikat said officers reacted quickly and arrested the group near a residential building. Police said two of the detainees needed medical attention and were taken by ambulance for a health check at hospital. The remaining six were taken directly to a detention centre. Initial information indicated seven men were from Somalia and one was from Algeria. Police said all were in Estonia illegally and had no documents with them. The detainees were placed in custody, and the case remains under police investigation.
