Latvian State Police confirmed that more than 102 grams of cocaine and more than 83 grams of marijuana were seized from a man detained in Saldus in May. Officers detained the Saldus resident on May 14 at about 21:10 in connection with suspected illegal drug dealing. Later the same day, police with a service dog searched the man’s home and properties. During the search, they seized cocaine and marijuana, as well as cash worth several tens of thousands of euros. The money was placed under arrest because investigators suspected it was obtained through crime, possibly from selling narcotics. Expert examinations have now been completed. Investigators say the drugs removed from circulation amounted to 102.02 grams of cocaine and 83.17 grams of marijuana. The man has been granted the status of a suspect. A security measure not involving deprivation of liberty has been applied, and the investigation continues.
