Police in Moldova raided suspects linked to an alleged scheme to provoke mass disorder, including an online effort branded “ProtestMD”.

On 23 October 2026, officers from the INI, with Moldova’s Information and Security Service (SIS) and prosecutors from PCCOCS, carried out simultaneous searches in Chisinau and in the country’s Centre and North regions. The raids were carried out with support from BPDS “Fulger”.
Police said the material they obtained points to involvement and recruitment of young people through manipulation tactics, including attempts to reduce how people perceived the consequences of such actions. The suspects are accused of making calls and inciting violent acts and mass disorder.
At the moment, the suspected people are cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation continues to identify all those involved.
