Police raid in Tutin seizes 41 used cars, arrests 61-year-old
All vehicles were confiscated after police found them at a rural lot and charged the suspect.
Police raided a lot in Tutin and found 41 used cars suspected of being held for illegal sale. A 61-year-old man, R. D. from Tutin, was arrested and all vehicles were seized, Sandzaklive.rs reports.
The operation took place on a single plac in a village settlement in Tutin. Police said the action was carried out as part of efforts against the grey economy, and the suspect was charged with two offences, unauthorized trade and unauthorized storage.
Investigators believe R. D. kept dozens of used passenger vehicles on the lot for further sales contrary to applicable regulations. During the raid, officers from the Criminal Police Directorate, the Service for Combating Crime, and the Department for Combating Economic Crime took part, along with police from the Novi Pazar Police Administration and the Tutin Police Station.
The control also involved inspectors from the Tax Police, from the Operational Department in Kragujevac. The police action was carried out on an order from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Pazar.
After the seizure of all 41 vehicles, police said the next step would be to establish the circumstances of how the cars were stored and intended to be sold.
This is not the first similar operation in Tutin. On 9 September 2026, police arrested E. Ć. (54) from Tutin and seized nine used vehicles in a separate case, with suspicions that the cars were meant for further sale without authorization. The two cases were not reported as connected.
R. D. was held for up to 48 hours and will then, with a criminal report, be brought before the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Pazar.
