Police in Bursa rescued a woman who was held hostage by her son with a knife in their home in Osmangazi. The incident took place at an apartment on the 3rd floor in the Küplüpınar Mahallesi Okul Sokak area. Hatice Ç. lived with her son, Hakan Ç., and the man allegedly took his mother hostage for an unknown reason. Hatice Ç. managed to lock herself in a room and reported the situation. Officers and 112 emergency medical teams were sent to the address. Police tried to persuade Hakan Ç., but after they were unable to resolve the standoff, special operation teams were called in. The officers entered the apartment by breaking down the door with a battering ram and rescued Hatice Ç. After prolonged efforts, police convinced Hakan Ç. to surrender and he was taken into custody. The son is currently detained, while the police action has concluded for the hostage rescue.
