Police arrest man after suspected thefts of tools in Euskirchen
A raid found fake money and bank cards, after multiple vehicle break-ins.
Police in Kreis Euskirchen have arrested a man after a run of suspected thefts involving vehicles and electronic devices.
Between 31 October, 5pm, and 3 November, 8pm, unknown offenders stole multiple power tools from a vehicle in Zülpich-Bürvenich. In the night of 4 November, a motorhome and a car were also targeted in Euskirchen-Roitzheim.
The motorhome was broken into, and the vehicle was searched. The car showed no signs of forced entry, but a tablet was taken.
Police say a theft in the nearby area had already allowed officers to identify a man. Based on this, a search was carried out at a home of a 28-year-old from Euskirchen.
During the search, officers found and seized counterfeit money and several bank cards. The stolen tablet was also recovered and handed back to the rightful owner.
The 28-year-old was placed under temporary custody due to the risk of flight and repeat offending, police said.
