Police in Niš have arrested a 46-year-old man from Aleksinac after finding suspected marijuana, a smaller amount of suspected cocaine, and a precision scale during a street control and subsequent search. Authorities said the case started when the suspect allegedly discarded a small packet while being checked on the street, containing about six grams of suspected marijuana. The Police Administration in Niš said a search then followed at the man and at premises he uses. Officers found three more batches of suspected drugs, including two additional packets with about 128 grams of suspected marijuana. At the same time, police seized a smaller quantity of powder suspected to be cocaine and a weighing scale used for precise measurement. The arrest was carried out on an order from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Aleksinac, under suspicion of the criminal offence of unauthorized possession of narcotic drugs. The suspect was detained for up to 48 hours. After that, he will be brought before the competent public prosecutor with a criminal report.
