More than 57,000 electric scooters were seized in a coordinated operation by CBŚP and Poland’s Służba Celno-Skarbowa targeting a suspected organised tax fraud group. Police said the seized scooters were worth about 156 million złoty, and investigators estimate the group’s alleged activity could have caused at least 162 million złoty in losses to the State Treasury. Officers carried out the action with more than 150 personnel. They detained 16 people as part of the investigation into suspected multi-million złoty tax fraud. The operation focused on uncovering how the group’s scheme led to large-scale tax losses, with prosecutors and investigators pointing to the potential impact on public finances. The scooters were the key seized asset in the case. The case remains at the investigation stage following the arrests and seizure of the 57,000-plus scooters.
