Polish police seized more than 576 kilograms of cut tobacco, which investigators say would have reduced the state budget by over 960,000 zł if it had entered the market. Officers from Proszowice Police carried out the operation and secured the tobacco after identifying the batch for illegal introduction into trade. Police did not provide details on how the contraband was sourced or delivered, but said the seizure prevented the alleged shortfall to public finances. The case is currently at the stage of police proceedings following the seizure, with the investigation focused on the circumstances around the intended sale of the tobacco.
