Polish police recover a metal item from Stutthof camp grounds
The find helped reconstruct a Finnish prisoner history and contact his family.
Police in Poland, working with members of the Gulden Investigative and Historical Association, recovered a small, unremarkable metal object from the ground at the former Stutthof camp site.
Investigators used the discovery to piece together part of the story of a Finnish prisoner and to establish contact with his family.
Among those involved were Pomorskie Police officers nadkom. Przemysław Andrearczyk and kom. Bartłomiej Góra. They combine police duties in northern Poland with a passion for history, field exploration, and searching for traces of the past. Their experience is used not only during field research but also in criminal case work.
The latest verified status is that the discovery enabled historical reconstruction and family contact, with the work carried out by officers linked to the project.
