Police raid Las Delicias in Valladolid, seizing 145g cocaine
Three people from the same family were detained in Operation SMURF.
Police have raided a home linked to suspected cocaine retail sales in Valladolid, shutting down a small drug distribution point in the Las Delicias neighbourhood.
Three people from the same family were detained during the operation, carried out on 28 October. The investigation had started in August after information pointed to a woman allegedly distributing drugs from her home.
Officers carried out surveillance in the area and built up evidence despite the alleged security measures used by those under investigation to spot police activity. Police said the woman allegedly had active help from her partner and her son, who lived in the same property.
During the search, officers seized 145 grams of cocaine, 500 grams of cannabis, and 150 grams of hashish, along with 3,115 euros in cash. Police also found two knives and numerous items used to prepare and distribute the drugs.
The authorities estimated the seized drugs could have been used to make around 690 doses for direct sale. They put the estimated market value at 20,150 euros.
After the arrests, the men were taken to police facilities and gave statements at the Valladolid provincial police station, then were released with an obligation to appear before a judge if required. The woman was taken before a judge, who ordered her immediate prison placement.
The case is part of Operation SMURF, and police say the retail point has been dismantled in Las Delicias.
